One of the most well-endowed collections of Mexican art in the country.
2 Sur and 9 Oriente

This excellent museum is located in one of the oldest buildings of the first hospital founded in Puebla, San Juan de Letrán, as well as some other colonial homes. Founded in 1991, it has 14 rooms in two main sections, the Pre-Hispanic collection and the Colonial, as well as having exhibition rooms for excellent temporary shows. A room with reproductions of Pre-Hispanic paintings greets the public as they enter, who have the opportunity to appreciate a great timeline showing the artistic and cultural development throughout history on the five continents.

The path through the Pre-Hispanic section goes from the Olmecs up to the Aztecs, emphasizing the great artistic quality of the works that have made it to the present day. The rooms of Colonial art will impress the visitor, giving one the opportunity to appreciate everything from furniture to paintings, sculpture and everyday items that let us get a close look at this period of Mexican history.

The last room of the museum holds paitings by Diego Rivera, Dr. Atl and Eugenio Landesio.
